Lumber Futures Quotes
The
spot market is the market in which lumber is available for immediate delivery. The lumber futures price is different
than the lumber options price. Commodity and futures prices like lumber prices are usually quoted the same way prices
are quoted in the cash market (physical market). Lumber is quoted in US dollars/bd. ft. Different commodities are quoted in
different trading units. Be certain you understand the price quotation system for the particular commodity that you consider
trading. The contract size is 110,000 bd
ft; therefore, every $1/bd. ft move in the lumber futures market equals $110. The ICE lumber futures
contract is a contract for future physical delivery of 110,000 bd ft of lumber; however, the vast majority of the futures
positions are offset well before delivery. To view other contract months for lumber or lumber option prices register
