Futures Contract Specifications

The coffee contract specifications tell you how the coffee futures trade, not how to trade to coffee futures. Before you consider opening a commodity futures account you should consult with a licensed commodities broker.

COFFEE FUTURES

Trading Unit

37,500 pounds.
Price Quotation
U.S. dollars per pounds.
Minimum Price Fluctuations
The minimum price increment shall be five hundredths of a cent ($.0005) per pound.
Trading Hours (all times are New York time)
The contracts are available for trading on the CME Globex® trading platform from 6:00 PM Sundays through 5:15 PM Fridays, Eastern Time, with a 45-minute break each day between 5:15 PM and 6:00 PM. Off-Exchange transactions can be submitted solely for clearing to the NYMEX ClearPort® clearing website as an exchange of futures for swaps (EFS) or exchange of futures for physicals (EFP) transaction until 5:15 PM, Monday through Friday, and the day preceding a holiday.
Trading Months
A March, May, July, September, and December cycle for the next 23 months.
Termination of Trading
Trading ceases at the close of business immediately preceding the first notice day on the New York Board of Trade.

Coffee Futures Specifications

The Coffee “C” contract is the world benchmark for Arabica coffee. The contract prices physical delivery of exchange-grade green beans, from one of 19 countries of origin in a licensed warehouse to one of several ports in the U. S. and Europe, with stated premiums/discounts for ports and growths.
